Hey man, what are the LxWxH measurements on these? I'm thinking of getting them for use on my (non-Subaru) car. Also, is $75 for 4 of them? Thx so much!
Hello I am very interested in these. I was just wondering if you could verify if these will fit my current situation. I have a 2007 Impreza sedan if I replace my brackets with these and then purchase the "Control tower system" by yakima http://www.yakima.com/fit/Review?configuratorType=Yakima Is this everything I would need to have my roof rack attached instead of with the clips?
Just stumbled across this item as I research rack options for a 2015 WRX. Apparently they have done away with the mounting points on the new body, but they still have the channel in the roof. I am considering using your piece to mount the pre-2015 WRX rack to the 2015.
Yes it is a shame they've changed that about the new body. I think these would work well still. There's a bit you may have to do to get them perfect, but I believe they would work out nonetheless. You would ultimately also need nuts to go along with the kit, and this is something I can start providing if necessary for a bit extra. I am offering people 15% off the cost of the brackets if they are able to post a DIY and document the process with pics and instructions.
Thanks for the quick response Hector. I'm not sure that anyone claiming the mounts are no longer on the roof have actually checked (pulled back the black trim strip). Maybe we'll get lucky and see them, but perhaps they are right and none exist. If they don't exist, I am okay with drilling and mounting a set, and I would be happy to document the process along the way.
I don't have my car yet (I think it just hit the port today, in fact), but when I have it, I will start digging into it and contact you with what I find.
Just got confirmation from someone with the 2015 on hand that the roof channels do not have a rack mount beneath the trim, so one would need to drill the roof/channel to install the mounts. I am curious (still) to know what the inside of the roof looks like. Wondering if there is a suitable flat surface beneath the channel for the bolt/nut to go through and attach to.
I wish I could just weld something to it, but the paint would probably get fried on the roof if I did...
There should be a flat enough surface for the brackets. The regular roof itself is not completely flat. I wouldn't try welding because you'd have to grind away paint first to do so.
With aluminum, they would need to be anodized. Also using SS hardware with alu will cause galvanic corrosion. Simple decision to use 300 series stainless with stainless hardware. You can email me direct for any questions. Thanks!
I don't make any specifically for the CT200H (my wife has the same car), but I have seen my brackets used for other vehicles by drilling and bolting them to the roof.
They work for the 2015 with a custom install, browse the forums for the write-ups. I am still selling, just waiting to restock. Should have some soon. Check back in a week or so.
Still available. Not sure if they will work on the GF wagon. The wagon brackets usually have threaded bosses welded to the oem bracket to accommodate the roof rails. Typically I don't have wagon owners buy my brackets. My email is hectordtruong@gmai.com

ReplyDeleteYes, these will work with the control towers. It is pretty much all you need to replace the clip version. You reuse your cross bars.
DeleteThank you very much I have been looking for an alternative to the clip style for months! These look great and I cant wait to order some!
ReplyDeleteWill these work for a 2001 Impreza L?
ReplyDeleteFrom what I've been told, they work. I've had a few RS coupe and RS Sedan guys order them.
